Why We Keep Our Embroidery Minimal

Why We Keep Our Embroidery Minimal

We are not a fashion brand. We embroider by hand, with minimal designs, and we do not overload a tee with random colours and threads.

One Idea Per Tee

Every Orchin tee starts with a meaning. Then we ask what is the least that could carry it. A word. A shape. A trail of broken thread. If a design needs six colours to be understood, it probably does not know what it is saying.

Black Plus One Colour

Many of our designs are stitched in black with one accent, which is red. That one colour does the work of an exclamation mark, without the shouting. Read why there is always something red on an Orchin tee.

Space Is Part of the Design

The cloth around the patch matters as much as the patch. A small design on a plain tee lets a person look at it properly.

A Quiet Design Gets Looked At Twice

A loud tee gets noticed from across the street. A quiet one gets noticed up close, by the right person. That is the audience we make for.

Hand-Embroidered Because Minimal Shows Everything

A minimal design leaves nowhere to hide. Every line has to be right. That is one reason each piece is stitched by real hands, stitch by stitch, with the small variations that tell you someone made it.
